Serge Corel new UK & Ireland Country manager of Wakam

Serge Corel, new Country Manager UK & Ireland will lead the development of new and existing partnerships in the UK and Ireland.

With this new appointment, Olivier Jaillon confirms the European scope of Wakam as a leading digital player in insurance and strengthens the company’s foothold in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

A track record of excellence within prestigious financial departments

He is a graduate of Sciences Po and Sorbonne University; Serge COREL specializes in Finance and began his career in 1987 at Ernst & Young as a senior auditor. From 1991 to 1993, he was Financial Controller at Valéo.

In 1993, he joined the actuarial sector as Chief Financial Officer at France Secours. There, he worked to improve the group’s profitability by setting up new financial processes in automobile, health and legal insurance.

An experienced manager and specialist of the United Kingdom and Ireland with 30 years of experience.

In 1997, Serge Corel joined the finance department of Allianz Partners UK. He contributed to the creation of an insurance branch in the United Kingdom and set up the accounting and administrative processes.

On the strength of his results, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Partners UK & Ireland in 2012. During his eight years in office, Serge Corel has distinguished himself through his collaborative management style. Allianz Partners UK saw its turnover increase by 40%, ranking in the group’s Top 5 in terms of profitability.

More recently, at Cuvva, a British Insurtech, he oversaw the development of partnerships around travel and car insurance.

Serge Corel will be the first representative of Wakam outside France. He will be in charge of managing the British and Irish business and increasing the performance of our operations. As a reminder, in 2019, Wakam’ turnover in the United Kingdom reached 57 million euros compared to 32 million euros in 2018. With a presence in 13 countries and an international growth rate of 68%, the company has established itself as an international insurance player.
